1. Introduction

Welcome to the Silverstripe Certification Platform (the "Platform"), operated by S2 hub – Verein zur Förderung der Verbreitung von Open Source Software in Europa ("S2 hub", "we", "us" or "our").

These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Platform and the certification services offered through it. By purchasing a certification, redeeming a voucher, registering for or taking a certification examination, you agree to these Terms.

2. Seller and Service Provider

The certification services offered through the Platform are provided and sold by:

3. Service Description

The Platform offers paid certification examinations for web developers working with the Silverstripe ecosystem, including the Silverstripe CMS core system and associated modules, add-ons and extensions.

Depending on the selected certification, the examination may relate to a specific version of the Silverstripe CMS, a specific module or another technology within the Silverstripe ecosystem.

Upon successful completion of a certification examination, participants receive a digital certificate ("Certificate"). The Certificate is a digital product delivered electronically. No physical product will be shipped.

4. Certification Process

4.1 Certification Types

The Platform offers different certification examinations. The subject matter, examination content and applicable requirements may differ between certifications.

The applicable Silverstripe CMS version, module, add-on or other certification subject is displayed during the relevant certification process and forms part of the service purchased.

4.2 Examination Details

The following information is displayed for each certification before purchase or before the examination is started:

• the applicable Silverstripe CMS version, module or technology;
• the examination format and scope;
• the passing score or passing criteria;
• the number of permitted attempts;
• any applicable time limit;
• the applicable price and taxes; and
• the applicable voucher validity period.

Certificates are valid indefinitely unless a different validity period is expressly stated for the relevant certification. Unless otherwise stated, a Certificate is tied to the specific Silverstripe CMS version, module or other software package specified in the certification.

4.3 Successful Completion

A Certificate is issued only if the participant meets the applicable passing criteria. If the examination is not passed, no Certificate will be issued for that attempt.

5. Prices and Payment

Certification fees vary depending on the selected certification. The applicable price is displayed before the purchase is completed.

All prices are stated in euros and include applicable Austrian value added tax, unless expressly indicated otherwise.

Payment is processed through Stripe, our payment service provider. Accepted payment methods include credit cards and iDEAL.

We do not store complete credit card details on the Platform. Payment information is processed by Stripe in accordance with Stripe's applicable terms and privacy information.

6. Voucher and Access

6.1 Voucher Delivery

After successful payment, the purchaser receives a voucher code and the information required to redeem the purchased certification. The voucher is sent to the email address provided during the purchase process.

6.2 Voucher Validity

Unless otherwise stated during the purchase process, the voucher is valid for 1 year.

The applicable validity period is displayed before purchase and is also included in the purchase confirmation.

6.3 Voucher Redemption

A voucher may be redeemed only once and may be used only for the certification for which it was issued. A voucher may not be sold, assigned or transferred to another person unless expressly permitted by S2 hub.

The purchaser is responsible for keeping the voucher code confidential. S2 hub is not responsible for unauthorised use of a voucher resulting from the purchaser's failure to protect the voucher code.

6.4 Immediate Access

After successful payment and voucher redemption, the participant may receive immediate access to the relevant certification examination.

The examination is considered to have started when the participant begins answering examination questions or otherwise activates the examination attempt.

7. Statutory Right of Withdrawal

7.1 General Right of Withdrawal

If you are a consumer within the meaning of applicable consumer protection law, you generally have the statutory right to withdraw from the purchase contract within 14 days without giving any reason.

The withdrawal period generally begins on the day on which the purchase contract is concluded. You may exercise your right of withdrawal using the refund function available at:

7.2 Effect of Withdrawal

If you validly exercise your right of withdrawal, we will refund the payment received from you in full through Stripe. The related voucher will be cancelled and may no longer be redeemed.

We will send a confirmation of the withdrawal and refund to the email address associated with the purchase.

7.3 Immediate Performance and Loss of Withdrawal Right

During the purchase or voucher redemption process, you may expressly request that the certification service begin immediately, before the expiry of the statutory withdrawal period.

If you give this express consent and separately acknowledge that you will lose your statutory right of withdrawal when the certification examination starts, your right of withdrawal ends when you start the examination.

The date and time of your consent and the date and time at which the examination starts may be recorded to document the provision of the service.

7.4 Failed Examination Attempts

If the examination has been started in accordance with Section 7.3 and the examination is not passed, the certification fee is not refundable, subject to your statutory rights and any rights resulting from a technical failure attributable to S2 hub.

8. Refunds and Technical Failures

8.1 Refund Before Examination Start

Subject to the statutory right of withdrawal and the conditions in Section 7, a purchaser may request a refund within 14 days of purchase by entering the applicable voucher code and the email address used for the purchase at:

A refund request is no longer available after the certification examination has been started, provided that the purchaser expressly consented to immediate performance and acknowledged the loss of the right of withdrawal as described in Section 7.3.

8.2 Technical Failures

If a technical failure attributable to the Platform prevents you from completing an examination, please contact us at info@s2-hub.com.

Depending on the circumstances, S2 hub may provide an examination reset, an additional attempt, an alternative examination date or another appropriate remedy.

8.3 No Exclusion of Statutory Rights

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits mandatory statutory consumer rights. In particular, the refund provisions do not affect statutory remedies resulting from a failure of conformity or a technical failure for which S2 hub is responsible.

9. User Obligations

9.1 Account Security

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities conducted under your account.

9.2 Prohibited Conduct

You must not:

• share examination questions or answers with third parties;
• publish, reproduce or distribute examination content;
• attempt to bypass examination security measures;
• use the Platform for an unlawful or unauthorised purpose;
• impersonate another person;
• provide false or misleading information; or
• allow another person to take an examination on your behalf.

9.3 Certificate Integrity

Certificates are issued to individuals only. They may not be transferred, sold, assigned or used by another person.

If a Certificate was obtained through fraud, impersonation, cheating, misuse of the Platform or another material breach of these Terms, S2 hub may revoke the Certificate and restrict or terminate access to the Platform, subject to applicable law.

10. Intellectual Property

All examination content, including questions, answers, explanations, texts, graphics, software and related materials, is the intellectual property of S2 hub or its licensors.

You may use the Platform and the Certificate for their intended personal and professional purposes. You may not reproduce, publish, distribute, sell, make available to third parties or create derivative works from examination content without our prior written permission.

11. Legal Guarantee of Conformity

The certification service and any digital Certificate supplied by S2 hub are subject to the applicable statutory guarantee of conformity for digital content and digital services.

If the service or digital Certificate does not conform to the contract, consumers may be entitled to statutory remedies, including bringing the service into conformity, a price reduction or termination of the contract, as provided by applicable law.

These statutory rights apply in addition to any rights stated in these Terms and are not restricted by the certification-specific refund provisions.

12. Disclaimer and Limitation of Liability

12.1 No Professional Guarantee

The Certificate confirms that the participant successfully completed the relevant certification examination. It does not guarantee employment, professional recognition, a particular income or any specific career outcome.

Recognition of the Certificate is at the discretion of employers, customers, organisations and other third parties.

12.2 Platform Availability

We aim to maintain reliable availability of the Platform. However, we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free access.

The Platform may be temporarily unavailable because of maintenance, updates, security measures, technical problems or circumstances beyond our reasonable control.

12.3 Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, S2 hub is not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages arising from the use of the Platform or a Certificate.

This limitation does not apply where liability cannot legally be excluded or limited, including liability for intent, gross negligence, injury to life, body or health, or mandatory consumer rights.

If you have a complaint concerning a purchase, payment, voucher, examination or Certificate, please contact us at:

Please include your name, the email address used for the purchase, the relevant voucher or purchase reference and a description of the issue. We will review your complaint and respond within a reasonable period.

14. Data Protection

Your personal data is processed in accordance with our Privacy Policy .

The Privacy Policy explains which personal data we process, for which purposes, how long we retain it and which rights you have under applicable data protection law.

15. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The version applicable to a purchase is the version available at the time the purchase contract is concluded.

Updated Terms will be published on the Platform with an updated effective date. Changes will not affect contracts already concluded unless required by law or agreed with the customer.

16. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of Austria.

If you are a consumer, this choice of law does not deprive you of the protection afforded by mandatory provisions of the law of the country in which you have your habitual residence.

Any disputes shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the competent courts in Austria, unless mandatory consumer protection law provides otherwise.
